Millsaps Summer Camps

A Summer Guitar Workshop for beginners starts Monday, June 14. For ages 13-17, the camp meets 10-11:30 a.m. and costs $85. Millsaps music professor Jimmy Turner is the instructor. This camp has made but there is still room for several more in the class.

Millsaps Summer Enrichment camps will offer “Creative Writing” for students in grades 9-12 on MWF June 21-July 2, 10 a.m.-noon. The cost is $135. Dr. Richard Boada of the Millsaps English faculty will be the instructor.

Later camps include Chamber Music Day Camp, Character Animation Workshop, Discovering the Young Artist, Science Fair 101, Be A Nature Detective, Birding Camp, and Cheer Dance Basics.

Being able to explain to young girls the importance of how they look and communicate was a great honor. Today, I spoke to a group of young girls with the Imagine Me Project. They were attending a retreat at the Roosevelt State Park in Morton, MS. I felt so inspired to continue my journey teaching others how to look and communicate. It was an amazing experience to help young women prepare for their future. Knowing how to dress in a professional setting is so important. It can make or break your career. These young girls were able to "drill" me on several topics, including makeup, skincare, and dressing on a budget. It was unbelievable at how conscious these young girls were about the importance of taking care of themselves. The Imagine Me Project is making an everlasting impression on the lives of these young girls. I was happy to contribute in helping these young girls develop into successful women!
